The Story Behind the Name ‘Lena Jane + Company’
Every now and then, someone walks into the store and asks, “Are you Lena Jane?”
And every time, I just smile and say, “Nope, I’m Ali Jane.” 😂
It happens more than you’d think—and honestly, I kind of love it.
Because the name Lena Jane + Company isn’t just something cute I came up with on a whim. It means something really special to me—and to my whole family.
💖 Where “Lena” Came From
The name “Lena” comes from my paternal grandmother, Lois Lena. She passed away when I was in 5th grade, but I remember her so clearly. She was the absolute sweetest woman on the planet.
I always thought I’d use Lena as a baby name one day, but when it didn’t work out with my first, and I thought I was done having children, I held onto the name and gave it a different kind of life—through my business.
Now, her name is on the door, on the website, on our bags… it’s everywhere. And that feels really, really right.
👩👧 And “Jane”?
“Jane” is actually the middle name shared by three generations of women in my family—my mom, me, and my oldest daughter.
When I put the two names together—Lena Jane—it just felt like a perfect way to honor the women who shaped me andthe little ones I’m raising now. It made it feel like a true family business from the very beginning.
🛍 From “Clothing Co.” to “+ Company”
I’ll be real honest with y’all—I originally called it Lena Jane Clothing Co. because I saw another boutique with a similar name and thought it sounded cool. 😂 At the time, I was only carrying clothing, so it fit!
But as the business grew and our offerings expanded, I realized I didn’t want to be boxed in as just a clothing store.
We’re so much more than that. We’ve got gifts, accessories, spa goodies, antiques, events, community partnerships… you name it.
So I made the switch to Lena Jane + Company—to reflect everything we are now and everything we’re still becoming.
💕 What It Means to Me Now
Today, “Lena Jane” means a whole lot more than just a store name. It represents my family, my story, and the people who’ve helped shape every part of this journey.
It reminds me of my roots, the strong women in my life, and the dreams I’ve built alongside my husband and kids.
It’s not just a business name. It’s a legacy.
